A Happy, Healthy, Little Lainey

Just wanted to say thanks to all of you for your prayers. Lainey is just as healthy as if the hospitalization never happened. I am so thankful for a God who is constant and unchanging in the middle of our struggles. We received the test results a few days ago that completely rule out diabetes and my heart can't stop rejoicing. I know this diagnosis would not have been the end of the world and many parents are told worse things every day. But I am celebrating that this was not God's plan for Lainey and that He gave us the wisdom to know how to take care of our little girl.
What a little trooper she is! I called her my little Pollyanna through the whole experience because she somehow managed to make a couple of really tough days playful. She loved pushing the button that made the hospital bed go up and down. She would climb to the top of the bed when it was elevated and try to slide down as if she were at the park on her favorite little slide. She would be in the midst of tears after a nurse would draw her blood or check her blood sugar levels but she wouldn't let a nurse leave the room without saying "bye bye." She made friends with all the hospital employees and everyone on our floor knew who she was. What a spirit she has.
What a lesson for her momma to appreciate the fact that God has given me a healthy child. I am far too guilty of taking the gift of health for granted. But I have learned in a new, fresh way that my God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. No matter how my feelings or way of life may change, He is the same.
These pictures were taken yesterday and you will see little Lainey is just as onery as ever! Thanks again for your prayers.

Monkey Joes

A new Monkey Joe's recently opened in O'Fallon. We were so excited because we've heard some great reviews from Julianna and Ava about their Monkey Joe's in Augusta. We had a great time and can't wait to take all of our cousins when they come to visit!

A Beautiful Day

The past several months I've found myself thinking of perfect spring days and warm sunshine. Today those thoughts became a reality. Sunshine, not a cloud in the sky, a light breeze, and 75 glorious degrees. The perfect day for the park, a picnic, bubbles and a kite. If only every day could be like today, this is what memories are made of. Looking for the perfect picnic spot
