Cute as a Button

In celebration of Lainey's six month birthday, we had some wonderful pictures taken. I wish I could take credit for these, however, Portrait Innovations, I am sure frown upon that. They truly don't get much cuter than this,..... well until the next set of pictures anyway.

Rub-a-dub-dub, Thanks for the Grub!

Good-bye bottles, hello rubber spoons, plastic bibs, high-chairs, sour faces, and some of the most vile and disgusting looking food ever seen by mankind. Every two days a new a food...and definitely a new adventure.

Living Vicariously

No matter where our day takes us, Nikki and I both very much enjoy our special time with Lainey. There is nothing more fun than to lay down with our little girl and make her smile and giggle. There aren't many toys that Lainey is not interested in right now, but she seems particularly drawn to her basketball (I have no idea how or why that would be). On the contrary, she also seems to display an uncanny ability to twist and stretch her legs in ways that are unnatural. (According to Nikki, she seems to be fitting the mold of a cheerleader or a gymnast). I, however, make sure that the first thing she sees when she wakes and sleeps is that beautiful basketball. I know some of you reading this are already seeing tendencies of the controlling parent who desires to live vicariously through their child, but I have no idea where one would come up with such an idea..... WNBA here we come!!!

Smiles, Smiles, And More Smiles

Brace yourself, you are about to witness the cutest, most precious, little girl ever. These pictures may cause extreme happiness and possibly brighten what could be a possibly gloomy day for some.

Overwhelmingly Fixated

Life at the O'Dell estate is full of fun and enthusiasm these days. Lainey has surprised us all with two little teeth already. That came as quite a shock to both Nikki and I, who would of thought that at four months we should be looking for those little chompers. On top of that, our precious little girl never once acted abnormally. I mean I know our little girl is quite advanced and all..... HA HA! I have probably just jinxed the rest of the teething process by bragging about the ease of the first two. Anyway, it is not those two pearly whites that is the cause for this post, but rather the overwhelming propensity to take anything that is near her personal space and attempt to fit it/them into her mouth. Sure, all children partake in this ritual as a part of their learning, but at times it just really cracks you up to see what she is attempting to bite, suck, lick, chew, taste, and any other thing she could possibly do with her mouth. Enjoy these pictures.

I like to chew on Large Plastic Doughnuts

I especially like my little fish keys

This is how I feel after spending time sucking on my toes

Yet another toy I enjoy wrapping my mouth around

I really like all my pretty clothes.....something about a cotton-blend really gets my taste buds going.

Ah, we can't forget my fingers. What an expression!

Even at our first football game, with all of the excitement of Tiger football I still enjoy a good finger or two.

And yes.......Daddy's nose. She tricked me into thinking it was going to be a kiss, but I soon found out that wasn't the intent at all.

Ah the Sweet Days of Summer

Pretty in Pink

Trying out the new Bumbo seat!

Our day at the pool...Lainey spent most of it asleep

Sweet Julsey in her duckie hat

Little Miss Maddie

Dressin' up for grandma's birthday at a place called "Girlfriend's Let's Do Lunch"

Ridiculous glasses I know...but a fun day! We missed Jen, Julsey and Ava...Jen I have a hat picked out for you next time!

Smiley Girl

One of Lainey's many new expressions

Smiling for Mommy

My favorite picture of her sweet grin. Lainey greets me with this smile every morning.

It's my favorite time of the day!

A new talent...blowing bubbles

Peaceful, sweet, sweet baby

Our trip to Powell Gardens...again...Lainey slept most of the day

With Uncle Chad just before their move to Georgia

Our trip to youth camp in Jefferson City, Tennessee. Lainey came along for the ride and was the

center of attention the entire week.

Uncle Seth and Lainey at youth camp. He carried her around the campus hoping to attract some extra attention from the Ladies! It worked too...even with that awful haircut his youth pastor (jamie) gave him just before leaving for camp. Some of the guys got mohawks...so I guess I should be thankful for the bowl cut!
